Susan Ashbrook Harvey till Lund

Sophia har bjudit in den ortodoxa amerikanska forskaren och författarinnan Susan Ashbrook Harvey till att hålla föredrag lördag den 17 september 2011, efter liturgin. Harvey har arbetat med grekiska pelarhelgon och syriska kvinnokör, fornkyrkliga dofter och Bibelgestalter i poesi. Som representant för den ortodoxa kyrkan i USA har hon bl a deltagit i flera samtal med de andra kyrkotraditionerna. I Lund kommer hon att tala om lekmannens roll i den tidiga kyrkan under rubriken Reflections on the Laity: Ancient Christian Views.

Bysantinsk konsert i Köpenhamn

Den rumänska kyrkan i Köpenhamn bjuder till konsert. Fader Abraham skriver:

I have the great joy to invite you to a small byzantine concert held on the 24th of July 2011 in Sankt Andreas Kirke, where we, by the good willing of our Catholic brothers, serve the Romanian Orthodox community. The program goes like this:

on the 24th July in the morning at 10.00 there will be the Divine Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom sang in Romanian Byzantine style

On the 24th July in the evening at 20.00 there will be a special concert of Byzantine hymns (both Greek and Romanian style), with a icon exhibition (both painted in a naive Romanian style on glass as for old byzantine icons).

Nya böcker från ortodox "Lundateolog"

David Heith-Stade översatte nyligen Metropolit Hilarion Alfejevs eminenta Trons mysterium till svenska för Artos och Anastasis Media. Nu publicerar han boken Marriage as the Arena of Salvation. An Ecclesiological Study of the Marital Regulation in the Canons of the Council in Trullo


Heith-Stade är doktorand i Lund och arbetar med kanonisk rätt.
